SB Creative to exhibit latest Intelligent Shelf, a futuristic informative station with a motion sensor,
at Digital Signage Expo 2015

SB Creative Corp. (headquartered in Tokyo, Minato Ward, headed by Kosei Tsuchihashi) announced it will exhibit its Intelligent Shelf Service, a station that communicates product information and gathers and analyzes customer behavior information, at Digital Signage Expo 2015, the world's largest tradeshow of digital displays and interactive technology, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada, USA.

The Digital Signage Expo will be held from Tuesday March 10th to Friday March 13th. Over 200 companies from all around the world will have booths dedicated exclusively to hardware, networking, distribution, and content, with more than 5,000 visitors are expected. SB Creative Corp. is honored to announce its exhibition at Intel Corporation's booth to demonstrate the latest model of Intelligent Shelf and its new functions that use a motion sensor to strengthen marketing functions.

Intelligent Shelf provides solutions as an informative station by connecting a merchandising shelf to the Internet. By taking advantage of the latest motion sensor technology applied to the latest Intelligent Shelf, it allows retailers to gather more information about customer behavior in front of the shelf such as staying time in front of the shelf and the number of times a customer takes a product off the shelf. Data is sent to a cloud system such as Microsoft Azure, where retailers are better able to analyze those data and make the most of them for advanced marketing strategies.

Intelligent Shelf is equipped with micro digital signage that can show content individually to deliver real-time messages as well as more detailed information. A piece of signage can be connected to form a banner and playback advertisements or extend messages for greater impact. Furthermore, it can also switch displays person-by-person by recognizing customers with a motion sensor. For example, the shelf may playback an advertisement until a customer takes a product off the shelf. Then, the signage can display more details based on what the customer picks up, thereby providing a personalized shopping experience. Intelligent Shelf help enable effective promotions based on customer behavior.
Content displayed on the micro-digital signage can be controlled by a user-friendly content management system. All you need is an Internet connection and device of any kind. This then allows store staff to edit, arrange and update content easily and in real-time.
Bluetooth® Low Energy capability also enables Intelligent Shelf to communicate with customers' mobile devices. Besides receiving information, customers can also use the Intelligent Shelf to purchase products that are either not displayed, or out of stock. By combining in-store with online shopping experiences, Intelligent Shelf promotes omni-channel strategies.

SB Creative Corp. has piloted the Intelligent Shelf in Japanese bookstores since July 2014. Large screen displays and smartphone-sized digital signage provide customers with detailed information on physical books, series or backlists, and upcoming publication news. The Intelligent Shelf is not only limited to bookstores; it also works well in retail environments such as supermarkets, convenience stores, and beyond.
